Joseph Guerra and Nina Sohrab founded industrial design studio Visibility in 2012 in New York, after graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design. Joseph and Nina share an interest in the objects surrounding us in our daily lives, the things that we interact with the most, and to which we give deep personal meanings. This is what influences their approach to design, which aims to appeal to human emotions and become a part of the life of others. Observation is a way of reaching innovation, in order to create something that works well, maintains a radical newness, and still feels familiar. They work in a variety of fields, including furniture, lighting, electronics, appliance, and tableware design, always using materials for their instinctive qualities and functional traits.
“Visibility aims to distill ideas to what they want to be, retaining what appeals to our human sensibilities. Above all, we align ourselves with companies that share our interest in good, enduring design.”
