Baptiste Vandaele

Born in Kortrijk, Belgium, in 1999, Baptiste Vandaele is an innovative designer with a passion for creating that began during high school, where he studied visual and architectural arts.

This early foundation inspired his pursuit of industrial design, leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Product Design at Howest in Kortrijk, where he graduated with honors.

Despite being accepted to the prestigious Royal College of Art in London, he chose to establish his own design studio at just 21 years old. For Baptiste, design is about more than aesthetics – it’s about transforming spaces and creating joy through functional, timeless products. Rooted in the "form follows function" philosophy, his work reimagines archetypal forms with playful, unexpected twists while bridging creativity and craftsmanship.

For Normann Copenhagen, Baptiste has designed Colu, a collection of felt baskets made from recycled PET bottles, blending patterns inspired by architectural columns with functional handles and a striking interplay of light and shadow. The collection exemplifies his ability to harmonize resourceful materials with contemporary, useful design.
