Ace wins iF Design Award

We just landed from our jump of joy, lead on by the happy news that Ace won the German Design Award 2017, when yet another award gives us even more reason to celebrate. The Ace lounge collection has been honored with an iF Design Award 2017!

The ingenious flatpacked Ace collection is created by the young designer Hans Hornemann. Inspired by his life in Copenhagen, he designed a furniture collection that combines comfort and style with flexibility and accessibility, making it perfectly suited for young city folks.

“Nowadays, more and more people live in cities, without a car, in smaller spaces, and with no patience.”

Hans’ own way of living was the starting-point for his design. “More and more people live in cities, without a car, in smaller spaces, and with no patience,” he says. It is well known that particularly in Copenhagen, many people rather own bikes than cars.

“All my friends are constantly moving, from one small apartment to the next,” Hans tells us. “So I had this idea of being able to cycle down to a shop, fall in love with a chair – and then be able to take it home on your bike on that same day.”

This inspiration has become manifested in the flat-packed Ace collection. With a German Design Award 2017 already received, Ace was recently judged once more by a panel of over sixty renowned experts within design, industry and architecture. We are thrilled to say that Ace also won an iF Design Award, an internationally recognized sign of design excellence.
