About

Trin

Combining sculptural elegance with simple functionality, the Trin Candle Holder is a striking design object for all interiors.

Inspired by the warmth and familiarity of traditional wreaths, Trin balances geometric precision with organic softness. A simple ring anchors four tiered cylinders — a reference to its name, Trin, the Danish word for “steps.” This structure allows for endless combinations of candles in varying heights and colors, encouraging creativity and personal expression.

Cast in rough sand-cast iron, Trin conveys weight, permanence, and tactility. Its raw materiality contrasts with the delicate glow of candlelight, creating a compelling visual interplay that complements both classic and contemporary settings.

Whether used as a candle holder or displayed as a sculptural object, Trin lends warmth and character to any space in all seasons. With Trin Candle Holder, Normann Copenhagen continues to refine its collection of thoughtful design accessories that connect people and spaces — making everyday moments matter.

Designer

Constantin Wortmann

Constantin, founder of Munich-based design studio Büro für Form, is a designer whose work balances technical clarity with emotional expression. After several influential years collaborating with esteemed lighting designer Ingo Maurer, he established his own studio in 2006, focusing on lighting and accessories that combine precision with playfulness.

Shaped by the legacy of Bauhaus and the functional honesty of that design era, Constantin approaches design with clarity, reduction, and a focus on meaningful interaction. Yet he also embraces emotion and surprise, believing that function alone is not enough — a subtle twist or poetic detail creates a connection between object and user. “Products need more than perfect function and ergonomics, they need poetry,” he says.

For Constantin, the creative process is a dialogue between idea, development, and production. Projects evolve from sketches and 3D experimentation into prototypes, where forms are refined, technical challenges resolved, and emotional qualities tested. Geometric and organic elements merge, occasionally enriched with humor, producing designs that are both precise and unexpectedly engaging.
