The Circa stool is a minimalistic and timeless stool comprising a steel tube frame and an oak veneer, aluminum or upholstered seat available in either textile or leather. The circular seat rests on a slender steel base in black powder steel. Available in three different sizes, Circa offers a timeless stool suitable for bars, kitchen islands, or extra seating by the dinner table.
Clean with damp cloth. Textile upholstery: clean with textile or upholstery cleaner. Leather: clean with damp cloth. Use warm water with soap flakes. Frequent vacuuming with a soft fitting is recommended for both textile and leather to preserve color and appearance.
A celebration of classic minimalism, the Circa stool series is designed to stand the test of time. The smooth, curved edges of the seat rest on a sturdy base crafted in black powder coated steel. As implied by its name, circles are a recurring element in the design of the stool series.
The distinctive, circular shape of the seat is repeated in the rounded footrest as well as in the practical hole in the middle of the seat, which allows for the stool to be easily carried around.
The use of repetition ensures a harmonious and well-balanced expression in the design. With its contemporary and utilitarian look, the Circa stool series accommodates modern interior’s need for simplicity and functionality and offers the perfect solution for seating in residential or commercial spaces.
Simon Legald graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the summer of 2012. His work consists of both small- and large scale products. Simon's designs are often created in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually.
"Honesty is what makes a product understandable and is what describes the products functionality. If you understand the product, it does not need any explanation. The essence of my design is for it to be bought and used. Therefore, it has to satisfy not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs. For me simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them trustworthy. In my design, I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression."
