Product Information:

Hide Office Bin is an elegant and functional waste bin with a sleek and practical design. A removable lid allows you to easily secure a plastic liner inside, making it convenient to handle and discard trash. The office bin is made from a soft and durable PET felt, crafted from recycled plastic bottles.

Maintenance:

The PET Felt surface may be cleansed with water. To remove stains, gently dab the area with a dry cloth while the material is still damp. Avoid rubbing the surface as it may harm the material or produce excessive pilling. Allow the surface to air-dry naturally.

It is advisable to utilize professional cleaning products for cleansing the PET Felt surface. However, we recommend testing these cleaning agents on an inconspicuous area first.

Regular vacuuming of the PET Felt surface is recommended to eliminate dust particles.

To prevent damage to the material, it is advisable to keep the product away from heat sources such as heaters, fireplaces, and hair dryers.

About

Hide Office Bin

At the core of the Hide collection lies a commitment to exploring more responsible, circular materials. The collection is crafted from PET felt, a remarkable fabric made from post-consumer plastic bottles that undergo a transformative process where they are extruded into fine polyester fibers, which are then carefully pressed into a durable, visually appealing felt material.

As implied by their names, all members of the Hide collection are designed to cleverly store and conceal items that one wouldn’t want to put on display – the laundry basket aesthetically covers dirty laundry, the office bin discreetly hides discarded drawings, and the storage pouf stores anything from children’s toys to blankets to magazines.

Simon Legald, the designer behind Hide, explains: “With PET felt, we repurpose plastic waste into durable, versatile designs that address the needs of modern life while blending seamlessly into any interior."

Simon Legald

Simon Legald graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the summer of 2012. His work consists of both small- and large scale products. Simon's designs are often created in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually.

"Honesty is what makes a product understandable and is what describes the products functionality. If you understand the product, it does not need any explanation. The essence of my design is for it to be bought and used. Therefore, it has to satisfy not only the functional aspects, but also the psychological and aesthetic needs. For me simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them trustworthy. In my design, I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression."
