Redefining Material Norms. The Mat Chair collection challenges conventional furniture production by introducing highly renewable, durable materials—hemp and eelgrass—as alternatives to traditional plastic shell chairs. Designed for circularity, Mat is the result of years of extensive research, prototyping, and testing, culminating in an innovative chair that prioritizes material responsibility without compromising on aesthetics or functionality.

A large part of the design process consists of reflecting on materials, their quality, durability, origin, environmental impact and life cycle. We constantly seek new ways to introduce more circular designs into our collection.

Tucked away in the basement of a traditional brick building in Copenhagen’s lively Vesterbro neighborhood, just steps from the Meatpacking District, lies Aspekt Office’s design studio. Founded in 2018 by Hans Toft Hornemann and Terkel Skou Steffensen, the studio has become a hub for creativity and experimentation, embodying their multidisciplinary approach to furniture, product, and interior design.

 

Gaggenau, the luxury brand for professional-grade home appliances, presented ‘The Elevation of Gravity’ at Milan Design Week 2024, hosted in the glass observatory of the iconic Villa Necchi Campiglio. Furnished with Normann Copenhagen’s Fyr Stools, the immersive installation offered a unique spatial experience, inviting the architecture and design community to connect, share insights, and explore the fusion of design, craftsmanship, and innovation

Spread across three floors, the space blends heritage and functionality, serving as both a hub for creativity and a reflection of their enduring legacy.

Nestled along the coast of Svendborg, a charming town on the south of the Danish island Funen, this exclusive property boasts magnificent views of Svendborg Sound. Spanning over 400 m², the home is elegantly designed to reflect a cozy yet spacious contemporary aesthetic. Inside, the Sum Modular Sofa from Normann Copenhagen invites relaxation, while the Vig Outdoor Furniture complements the outdoor space. The portable Yo Table Lamp enhances the ambiance, providing soft illumination wherever needed.
